How to write a script for a no budget film

Minimum Number of Characters

Keep the number of actors in your script to a minimum. Develop a few solid characters that drive the story, rather than adding too many characters that are not crucial to the telling of your story.  To learn more about Frugal Screenwriter’s Group and to join, click on the Learn More button below.

Minimum Number of Locations

Write your script with locations in mind as your story unfolds. The locations should be easily accessible, free and kept to a minimum.  The fewer locations the shorter time it will take to shoot your script.  To learn more about Frugal Screenwriter’s Group and to join, click on the Learn More button below.

Have Equipment and Crew in Mind

Write your script with the equipment and crew needed to shoot it in mind.  It is best to recruit a crew where everyone already has their own equipment to bring to the shoot.  Keep the number of crew members to the minimum needed.  To learn more about Frugal Screenwriter’s Group and to join, click on the Learn More button below.
